KOKRAJHAR,MAR 20: Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Wednesday  ceremonially distributed Dr. Bashi Ram Bodo Doctoral Fellowship 2024-25 to 10 scholars at a ceremonial program held at BTC Secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.

The fellowship, instituted by the government of BTR, is a tribute to Dr. Bashi Ram Bodo, the first Ph.D. holder from the Bodo community. 
The initiative aims to empower scholars with financial aid, fostering academic excellence, innovation, and community development in the region.

A total of 111 scholars applied, out of which 48 have been selected in the first batch. Each scholar will receive ₹90,000 every six months for two years.
 A one-year extension may be granted based on research progress.
The government of BTR has been emphasizing for empowering scholars and supporting academic excellence across the region.
This visionary initiative will go a long way in empowering scholars with financial aid to pursue research & higher education, fostering innovation, academic excellence & community development in BTR region.

CEM Boro stated that the government of BTR has initiated this noble step to usher the research scholars.He has extended his warm best wishes for their future endeavors.

Each of them will receive financial aid of ₹90,000 on a half-yearly basis for two years, with a provision for a one-year extension subject to completion. I urge our scholars to make the best use of it and emerge as role models for the next generation”,Boro said.
