KOKRAJHAR, OCT 6: The District Orientation Programme under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan – Responsive Governance Programme was held today at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner, Kokrajhar. The initiative, aimed at empowering individuals and institutions for tribal transformation, seeks to build a cadre of committed change leaders capable of improving public service delivery and strengthening participatory governance in tribal areas.
The programme was attended by Subhram Aditya Bora, ADC, Kokrajhar, and Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha, ADC i/c Parbatjhora SDO (C), along with officers from key line departments and district master trainers under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. Discussions focused on enhancing governance responsiveness, integrating local needs into planning, and fostering convergence across departments for holistic tribal development. Suggestions regarding creating awareness against social evils such as child marriage, witch-hunting, and dowry by integrated awareness drives and departmental outreach through the Abhiyan was also discussed.
As part of the Abhiyan, the District Process Lab will be organized from 7th to 9th October at the Conference Hall of the Election Branch, Kokrajhar.
Notably, in Kokrajhar, the Abhiyan will include participatory activities such as transect walks, social mapping, and vision-building exercises in tribal villages. These will help communities identify key needs related to health, education, livelihoods, and infrastructure, forming the basis of the Village Action Plan 2030. The plan will translate collective aspirations into concrete development goals with defined timelines and departmental support.
Through Adi Sewa Kendras, the initiative will ensure sustained community engagement by serving as platforms for grievance redressal, awareness creation, and coordination of developmental schemes.
The district administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the Kokrajhar model becomes a benchmark for responsive and participatory governance under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, contributing to the larger national vision of a Viksit Bharat through tribal transformation.
