KOKRAJHAR, NOV 4: An awareness programme on Wage Compensation scheme for pregnant women of tea garden area, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), and other government health scheme was held at Kokrajhar Tea Estate in Kokrajhar on Saturday.
A large numbers of participants including officials from health department, social welfare, anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, tea garden workers were participated the programme which have gathered an attractive environment on the initiative.
The program discussed thoroughly over the initiatives initiated by women & child development and health department to create awareness about various women centric government schemes among the tea garden workers, and rural areas.
The program was organised by Women & Child Development, Kokrajhar and National Health Mission (NHM) unit, health society, Kokrajhar.
District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi,Joint Director Health Services, Dr A S Sarma, additional district commissioner, Kabita Deka attended the programme and aware the common public on the schemes.
Dwivedi said that the awareness programme discussed deeply on the governmental schemes which have been emphasized for bringing awareness on the pregnant women those are living at the tea estate areas.
He said that the initiative has been stepping to provide sufficient extensive support and facilities for the pregnant women fraternities in days to come.
