KOKRAJHAR,OCT 10: Huge devotees and visitors are thronging at the Puja Mandhaps on the Maha Saptami Day of the ongoing Sri Sri Durga Puja festival on Thursday in Kokrajhar-the city of peace to see the decorations and lightings on the puja pandals.
Notably, a total of 212 puja mandhaps have been erected to celebrate the Durga Puja festival in the entire Kokrajhar district including 112 in Kokrajhar sadar subdivision,31 in Parbathjora and 69 in Gossaigaon subdivision.
Today is the Maha Saptami Day of the festive Durga Puja as large number of devotees and visitors rushed to the puja mandhaps.
Each of the puja pandals is looking beautiful that was designed to showcase attractive special themes during the puja celebrations.
On the Maha Saptami day, puja mandhap hoppers and devotees in large number are thronging at the mandhaps since morning to see the mandhap designs which are erected along the mandhaps.
Devotees and visitors offered their prayer and worship to the mother Durga Goddess on the occasion,and sought blessings for the wellbeing of the humanity.
Many puja pandals have erected at Kokrajhar town itself, which are included Jahnabi Club near Circuit House,Santi Nagar erected 57th Durga Puja mabdhap with special decorations highlighting Gangotri-Yamunatri scenes.
The scenario gathered huge throng along the mandhap which was designed by art specialist Karthik Bhattacharya.
” The festive Durga Puja is creating festivity fervour among the citizens in Kokrajhar, and it’s adjoining areas as puja mandhaps are seen attractive with decorations.I am very much felt happy to see the Gangotri -Yamunatri scenerio erected at the Jahnabi Club.The puja festivity moment is seen enthusiastic “,said a mandhap visitor.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region has extended his Durga Puja greetings to all citizens of the BTR as well state of Assam on the occasion of Durga Puja.
” As we begin the sacred rituals of Maha Saptami, let us offer our prayers to Maa Durga, invoking her blessings for peace, prosperity, and strength. May this day mark the beginning of divine grace and victory over all evils. Wishing all a very Happy Maha Saptami”, CEM Boro said.
Meanwhile, the district administration, Kokrajhar has kept a strict security vigil on all puja mandhaps in the entire district.
“The puba mandhaps are asked to maintain smooth and peaceful environment along the respective mandhaps to meet congenial atmosphere in the district”, said a senior official in Kokrajhar.
