Death anniversary of Gopal Chandra Basumatary observed in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR,SEP 5: The 10th death anniversary observation of late Gopal Chandra Basumatary, founder president of the All BTAD Gaonburah Association was held at the Gaonburah Bhawan,Khargaon in Kokrajhar with a day-long programme scheduled.
The event was organised by the All BTAD Gaonburah Association to pay homage and respect to Late Basumatary,who founded the All BTAD Gaonburah Association in 2006, and rendered services towards the welfare and uplift of the society.

As part of the programme, president of the association, Dhananjay Brahma paid homage to late Basumatary at his tomb at the Gaonburah Bhawan,and recalled contributions of late Basumatary.
The BTAD Gaonburah Association submitted a memorandum to the deputy CEM of BTR, Gabinda Chandra Basumatary,demanded appointment of Gaonburahs across the Bodoland region.
They said that the Gaonburahs are rendering services towards the welfare and integration amongst the citizens in their respective villages.

Gabinda Chandra Basumatary,the deputy chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) graced the occasion as chief guest.
Basumatary stated that the Gaonburahs are the head of the village while leading the social integration amongst the citizens.He said that government of BTR is working dedicatedly for all round development of the society since it’s inception in the reign.

Meanwhile,an open discussion on the welfare and developmental aspects of the Gaonburahs was also held on the occasion.
BTR executive member, Ranjit Basumatary graced the occasion,and stated that the village headman are guardian of the society.
