KOKRAJHAR, MAY 15: In yet another alarming incident of daylight robbery, a theft occurred near the SBI Main Branch in Kokrajhar today.
A sum of Rs 2 lakhs was stolen from a parked Bolero vehicle after the thief broke the car’s window.
The victim has been identified as Barenda Basumatary, a businessman and resident of Gwjwnpuri village in Kokrajhar town. According to reports, the incident took place when Basumatary had briefly stepped away from his vehicle to photocopy some documents, leaving the cash inside. Taking advantage of the moment, the miscreant fled with the bag containing the money.
An FIR was lodged in Kokrajhar Police Station. Police rushed the spot shortly after being informed, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
