Kachugaon -Kajalgaon enters final match
KOKRAJHAR, JULY 13: The stage is set for the grand finale and vibrant closing ceremony of the first-ever Bodoland CEM Cup 2025, to be held on 15th July at the SAI Stadium, Titaguri in Kokrajhar. The highlight of the event will be the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who will attend the final match as the Chief Guest, acknowledging BTC’s strong commitment to grassroots sports and youth development.
Organised by the Government of Bodoland Territorial Region under the leadership of CEM Pramod Boro, the Bodoland CEM Cup 2025 has grown into one of the largest grassroots football tournaments in the country. The tournament began at the Village Council Development Committee (VCDC) level on 14th June 2025 in Udalguri, with participation from all 420 VCDCs across the five districts of BTR- Kokrajhar, Baksa, Chirang, Udalguri, and Tamulpur.
Following this, the winning teams advanced to the BTCLA Constituency Level phase, held from 22nd to 26th June. Constituency-level committees selected top players to form combined teams that competed in knockout matches at designated venues. The District Level phase was held from 1st to 5th July, where the best constituency teams battled to represent their districts at the Council Level. Throughout these stages, over 3,750 teams and nearly 70,000 players took part, making it a tournament of historic scale and inclusivity.
The Council Level matches began on 10th July in Kokrajhar, with venues at DASA Stadium (Dotma), South Aflagaon (Banargaon), Taranguri (Salakati), and the SAI Stadium in Titaguri. In the opening match, Goreswar (Tamulpur) edged past Salbari (Baksa) in a thrilling penalty shootout. The semi-final matches concluded in high spirits, setting the stage for a high-voltage finale on 15th July.
The Bodoland CEM Cup 2025 has not only celebrated athletic excellence but has also strengthened community ties, revived village-level sporting culture, and inspired a new generation of football talent. As thousands gather to witness the final match, the tournament stands as a powerful symbol of peace, unity, and aspiration in the heart of Bodoland marking a transformative milestone in BTR’s socio-cultural landscape.
Meanwhile,Kachugaon constituency beat Bhergaon constituency by 2-0 in the semi final and entered final being held at South Aflagaon playground, Banargaon in Kokrajhar.
Kachugaon constituency entered the final match defeating Bhergaon.
In another semi final match, Kajalgaon constituency defeated Jomduar constituency by 2-1 goals held at Taranguri playground in Kokrajhar on Sunday.Both the team showcased an attractive sporting amusement during the match.
Kachugaon constituency of Kokrajhar district will take on Kajalgaon constituency of Chirang district in the final match of the Bodoland CEM Cup to be held on 15th July at SAI stadium, Titaguri in Kokrajhar.
