CM Sarma inaugurates RCC bridge in Tamulpur 1

KOKRAJHAR, OCT 5: The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the newly constructed RCC Bridge on Barama-Dhamdhama-Tamulpur Roads at Tamulpur on Thursday amidst presence of Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, and cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma.

Notably, the dedication of RCC bridge is regarded as a major infra project to the people of Tamulpur, and make a forward step towards the welfare and uplift of the citizens.
The bridge has been built within just two years through the initiative of Chief Minister Dr Sarma which has been making direct connection with Tamulpur & Baksa, and reducing the Tamulpur-Mushalpur distance from 74 Km to 37 Km, travel time by 50%. The bridge has also been directly benefiting 25000+ citizens through enhanced connectivity across the entire Tamulpur area.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also laid the foundation stone of the District Sports Complex at Bathoupuri in Mushalpur, Baksa, Bodoland.
The Sports Complex will be built in 40 bighas of land, at an estimate cost of ₹48.25 crore. The sports complex will have a multipurpose indoor stadium, football field, a swimming pool & grand spectator stand.

CM Sarma while highlighting about the developmental activities being carried out in Bodoland region by state government, said that today the newly constructed bridge is boosting the new heights of development and uplift on the road connectivity. He has claimed that Tamulpur’s infra gets a major boost with the inauguration of the new RCC Bridge on Barama-Dhamdhama-Tamulpur Road.

Dr Sarma allso announced a slew of new infrastructure projects for Tamulpur, which included a new state-of-the-art Tamulpur Stadium, to be constructed at a cost of ₹50 crores; new DC Office in Tamulpur with amounting cost of ₹25 Crores; and new Circuit House in Tamulpur, to be built at a cost of ₹5 crores.

CEM Pramod Boro said that Tamulpur’s infrastructure gets a major boost with the inauguration of the new RCC Bridge on Barama-Dhamdhama-Tamulpur Road by CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He said the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the citizens.

Among others, Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro were prominent attendees in the event.
