CM Sarma announces more developmental aspects for BTR

KOKRAJHAR,MAR 17: The chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced for upgrading the Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma’s cemetery and declaring May 1 as a statewide remembrance day in his honor.
CM Sarma announced this remarks on Sunday on the occasion of the 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students Union’s (ABSU) open session held at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar.

Dr Sarma graced the occasion as special guest in the presence of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah,and announced several major announcements towards the welfare and development of the Bodoland region.He has lauded the students union who has been working and rendering services for the development and welfare of the Bodo and other communities since it’s inception.

He has announced that the state government is initiating necessary step while upgrading Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma’s Cemetery and declaring May 1 as a statewide remembrance day in his honor. He said that upgradation of Bodoland University and ensuring the full-fledged functioning of the Udalguri campus.
He stated that the Kokrajhar University to be fully operational with expanded academic and infrastructure facilities to facilitate higher educational environment in Bodoland region.

” A new Medical College in Udalguri to be established within the next three years, boosting healthcare facilities in the region, Bodo language to be introduced as a medium of instruction up to the Undergraduate (UG) level in Bodoland and  upgradation of 35 High Schools into Model High Schools, improving education infrastructure and quality in the Bodoland region “, CM Sarma said.

The ABSU and Bodo community have expressed their gratitude and sincere thanks to the chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for initiating the noble steps to make more uplift and developmental aspects across the region.
