KOKRAJHAR, OCT 1: Along with rest of the state, a cleanliness drive was carried out in Kokrajhar-the city of peace on Sunday to make an awareness of Swachatahi Seva amongst the citizens.
Hundreds of people cutting across the communities participated the cleanliness drive which was started from Civil Lines Road near DC office, Kokrajhar that traversed to the main town of Kokrajhar.
The initiative has been initiated to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the theme of ‘one hour, one cause’ which was organised by Kokrajhar district committee of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) in association with local citizens.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region, Assam cabinet minister Bimal Bora, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Suren Phukan, Hemango Thakuria, and several dignataries were present and joined hands the cleanliness drive.
The initiative has received large numbers of participation from different corners that cleaned up several areas in greater Kokrajhar town.
CEM Boro has lauded the organisers for carrying out the initiative of the drive which is very important for a healthy life leading amongst the citizens.
He said that the cleaning drive is a step to make dirty free environment and congenial healthy health management.
” It was an enthusiastic participation from the people of Kokrajhar town in the ‘One Hour, One Cause’ initiative reaffirming their commitment towards Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of a Swacch Bharat”, Boro added.
The 6th battalion of SSB based at Ranighuli in Kokrajhar have also carried out a swach Bharat abhiyan in Kokrajhar where jawans, and local peoples also participated the initiative.
