KOKRAJHAR,OCT 11: Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma ceremonially distributed Orunodoi Card to the newly enrolled beneficiaries under Orunodoi 2.0 scheme at a programme held at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

Notably, the entire Kokrajhar district have again opportunity to enroll more 21000 beneficiaries in days to come.
Addressing the well attended gathering, the chief minister Sarma said to date, around 20 lakh women have been receiving an amount of Rs 1,250 each on the 10th of every month through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method under the first phase of this social sector scheme.

“With the addition of another 7 lakh new beneficiaries from today onwards, it would add up to a total of 27 lakh-plus beneficiaries,” Dr Sarma said adding that another 5 lakhs new beneficiaries would be added soon.
The guaranteed minimum cash flow of Rs 1,250 for the underprivileged families across the state would be extremely helpful in the government’s aim of poverty alleviation, the Chief Minister added.
He said bicycle would be distributed to students of class 9 on 13th October. He also said on 16 October, the lending institutions will waive the accrued interest and penalties for these women and give them ‘no due’ certificates.

Sarma said ration card would be distributed to those who don’t have ration card by 31 December.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region while highlighting about the government’s initiative for bringing healthy welfare and development activities towards the bridging social integration said that today citizens cutting across the communities got opportunity to receive Orunodoi scheme in the state. He said that the BTR government and state government is fully committed to work for all round development of the society, and accordingly working relentlessly since it’s inception to the power.
Assam cabinet minister Ashok Singhal, BTR executive members Ranjit Basumatary, Arup Kumar Dey, Gautam Das, Ranendra Narzary, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Jiron Basumatary, UPPL general secretary Raju Narzary were present.

Later, the chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated newly constructed building of Kokrajhar district BJP office here along the new flyover amidst presence of Assam cabinet minister Ashok Singhal, CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, Assam state BJP president, Bhabesh Kalita, and senior party leaders.

CM Dr that this is the first BJP office building in Bodoland region, and more district office will be built in this 2023 itself in the rest of the districts of BTR.
He informed that the alliance parties are working dedicatedly towards the welfare and uplift of the region as well state as whole. He has opined that the BJP-AGP-UPPL alliance parties will work united to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

On a question regarding the BPF’s reaction on the alliance, Dr Sarma told that there is no political alliance talks with BPF party till date, but the BPF is only alliance contact in the assembly floor of the state.
“We are maintaining a healthy alliance spirit between BJP-AGP-UPPL parties and rendering services for bringing massive ushering of sustainable development in the state”, Dr Sarma added.

On the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Sarma informed that the alliance partners UPPL and AGP parties getting opportunities to contest the ensuing parliamentary elections as per the spirit of alliance within the parties due scheduled to be held in 2024 next year.

Earlier, the chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Construction Skill Training Centre at Industrial Training Institute, Ballamguri in Gossaingaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district.
The Training Centre is part of the 3 Skill Centres is being built as part of the MoU signed between Govt of Assam and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), for upgrading construction skills and modern construction technologies such as 3D printing, etc.

In Chirang, the chief minister Sarma laid foundation stones for construction of District Sports Stadium Complex, Chirang, Kajalgon, laid foundation stone to construct road of Chapaguri to Amteka-Bhutan Border under Assam Mala scheme and inaugurated the newly constructed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) along the Kashikotra-Basugaon Talguri Road at Basugaon town.
