Cheques distributed to youth clubs in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 9:  A ceremonial distribution of cheques to youth clubs associated with the Green Bodoland Mission was held at the Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University in Kokrajhar on Wednesday amidst a well attended gathering.

As part of the initiative, 115 youth clubs from Kokrajhar district were each handed over cheques worth Rs 50,000, aimed at strengthening grassroots participation in the environmental mission.
The event was attended by BTC Executive Members, Sajal Singha and Wilson Hasda, MCLA Reoreoa Narzihary, Bodoland University Vice Chancellor Prof. Babulal Ahuja, BTC Secretary Raktim Barua, and Mission Director Manaranjan Das, who jointly distributed the cheques.
A total of 229 clubs across the five districts of BTR actively involved in promoting the goals of the Green Bodoland Mission, which focuses on sustainability, environmental conservation, and community engagement.

Notably,more than 1.2 lakh trees have been planted across the districts of Bodoland Territorial Region under the Green Bodoland Mission.
” In a significant stride toward promoting environmental sustainability across the Bodoland region, the Green Bodoland Mission has initiated plantation drive.

This initiative served as a powerful recognition of the dedication and commitment of the region’s youth, especially those from Kokrajhar District, in driving forward the Green Bodoland vision. It highlighted the vital role young leaders play in fostering environmental awareness, community engagement, and sustainable development across the Bodoland Territorial Region”, said an official of the Green Bodoland Mission.
