Cheque distributes under Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi in BTR

KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 26: The distribution of cheque of ‘Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi scheme -a first-of-its-kind initiative of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government for helping financially weak students was held on Wednesday across the districts of BTR.

A total 9200 students representing 46 blocks of BTR districts would be benefited under the Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi which has been initiated under Education department of Bodoland Territorial Region government.
Each of the student was given a cheque of amounting Rs.5000 which has been regarded as a first-of-its-kind initiative of BTR government which has been aiming for helping financially-weak students in various parts of BTR.

In Kokrajhar, chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro ceremonially distributed cheques among the students under the ‘Giyan Swrang Bithangki’ scheme at a programme held at the auditorium hall of Science College amidst presence of MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Arup Kumar Dey, MCLA Madhab Chandra Chetry.
The students under Kokrajhar sadar subdivision received the cheques who are coming financially weak family background.

In his speech, Boro said that the BTR government has initiated Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi to extend financially helping hand among the poor family background students in the entire BTR districts.
He informed that altogether 9200 students are getting the benefits under the Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi scheme through the education department of the BTR government.
He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development and welfare of the citizens and dedicatedly rendering services since it’s inception in the reign.
“It is a glad moment to distribute cheques under the ‘Giyan Swrang Bithangki’ scheme of Kokrajhar sub-division on the ceremonial distribution programme today in Kokrajhar. The scheme is a first-of-its-kind initiative of our BTR government aimed at helping financially-weak students in various parts of BTR”, Boro added.

In Mushalpur, the cheque distribution of Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi scheme was held at Barama College auditorium under Mushalpur sub-division in Baksa district.
Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma,BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro, BTR executive members Rakesh Brahma, Ghanashyam Das and MCLA Mantu Boro were graced as guests in the event.
He said that the Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi is a first-of-its-kind initiative of the BTR Government aimed at assisting financially disadvantaged students in various parts of the BTR and under the scheme, each poor student will receive Rs. 5000.
“The programme is a commendable effort by the BTR govt, led by Shri Pramod Boro, to promote education and ensure that no child is left behind due to financial constraints. It was heartening to see the smiles on the faces of the students who received the cheques”, Brahma added.
