KOKRAJHAR, MAR 30: The 67th birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) is going to be celebrated as Student’s Day(Chatra Divosh) across the state on Friday to recall contributions and dedication of Bodofa towards the welfare & uplift of Bodos as well down trodden communities.
The government of Assam in association with Bodoland Territorial Region government is organising the Student’s Day (Chatra Divosh) centrally at Sangkhardev Kalakhetra Panjabari in Guwahati which is marking first ever as a grand birth anniversary celebration of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma under the patronage of state government.
Chief Minister,Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending as chief guest on the occasion in the august presence of chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro and several cabinet ministers of the state government.
A massive preparation and arrangements for holding the grand event in Guwahati have so far completed this evening which is being decorated with attractive looking.
Several thousand gathering is expected to throng the event from different districts of the state as well BTR.
CEM Boro has welcomed the state government’s decision and initiative for declaration of 31st and as Student’s Day (Chatra Divosh) across your state on the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.He has extended thanks to the chief minister and state government for celebrating the Students’Day ( Chatra Divosh) on March 31 across the state to mark the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.
In Kokrajhar,the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) is organising the Student’s Day (Chatra Divosh) at Dotma Thulunggapuri buriel place of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.
ABSU president Dipen Boro will hoist the student’s union flag followed by homage to Bodofa in the morning.
An open discussion on the contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma has also been organised on the occasion.
ABSU president Boro said that Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma sacrificed his whole life for the welfare and uplift of the down trodden communities including Bodo in the state of Assam.
He said that the students union has been observing the birth anniversary of Bodofa as Student Day every year on 31st March to keep alive of ideology and philosophy of Bodofa among the society.
He has appealed to all citizens of the state to extend co-operate and participate in the grand celebration of Chatra Divosh.
