KOKRAJHAR,APRIL 8: Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) laid the foundation stone for the construction of Sujit Narzary Memorial Park at Bhatipara Diabari in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday amidst presence of local citizens and members of the All Bodo Students Union.
The memorial park will also feature a statue of Sujit Narzary, the first martyr of the Bodoland movement.
The park will be constructed along the 4 bighas of land generously donated by the local villagers, with an estimated budget of ₹2.80 crore from the government of Bodoland Territorial Region.
The foundation laying ceremony was attended by ABSU vice -president Kwrwmdao Wary, Deputy Chief of Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council Romio P Narzary, local intellectuals, and villagers.
CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro said the memorial park will become a symbolic site of inspiration and remembrance for future generations in the region.
