KOKRAJHAR, OCT 20: Stepping to encourage the aspiring filmmakers and Bodo film world of Bodoland region, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Jalako (Tikendrajit Narzary) Memorial Digital Cinema Hall at Runikhata of Chirang district on Thursday amidst presence of filmmakers and actors.
The digital cinema hall would be constructed by government of Bodoland Territorial Region’s initiative to promote the Bodo cinema world across the region.
Notably, Jalako (Tikendrajit Narzary) was a prominent Bodo film actor of the Bodo film industry.
The BTR government has been emphasizing for bringing healthy uplift and promotion of the Bodo film world to explore the culture and language amongst the society.
CEM Boro while highlighting about the initiatives initiated by government of Bodoland Territorial Region, said that the council has so far resolved several resolutions to construct several digital cinema halls in the name of Jalako in the entire Bodoland region to promote the Bodo film world in days to come.
He has expressed his hopeful that after the completion, the digital cinema hall will provide a platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work and nurture local talent.
” It’s a remarkable initiative initiated by government of Bodoland Territorial Region to boost the film industry and creative arts in the region”, Boro added.
Among others, MP Rwngwra Narzary, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Dhananjay Basumatary were prominent attendees in the event.
