BTR districts join 78th Independence Day celebration

KOKRAJHAR,AUG 16: Along with rest of the state,the districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) joined the 78th Independence Day celebrations with befitting programme scheduled at their respective district headquarters on Thursday amidst huge presence of citizens and dignataries across the region.

In Kokrajhar,the Independence Day was celebrated at the Govt. HS & MP School parade ground in Kokrajhar which was organised by district administration,Kokrajhar.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro hoisted the national flag on the occasion amidst presence of huge gathering that marked smooth successful with various programmes.
Boro received guard of honour presented march-past by police personnel, NCC, students contingents from different school, colleges that witnessed an attraction among the audience.
A multi-cultural representing different communities was demonstrated to mark the celebration.
Boro earlier, paid homage to national martyrs at the Swahid Bedi behind the flyover in Kokrajhar town.

Award and felicitation was also presented to the persons those were successfully come out in their respective field including students of highest marks scorer in HS/ HSLC in the entire Kokrajhar district.

In his speech, CEM Pramod Boro, extended warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens of the state on the occasion of Independence Day.
On this historic occasion, let us honour the sacrifices of the nation’s Swatantrata Senanis and continue to work towards realizing a Bharat as envisaged by them.
He said that BTR region is getting more developmental aspects since post signing of the BTR peace accord.
He informed that all clauses of the BTR peace accord are getting implementation one after another as per the spirit of BTR accord.
He said that citizens of the state gets 78th Independence Day this year and getting healthy democratic integration across the country.

“We must strengthen the Independence Day spirit among the citizens in the state. India is a greatest democratic country in the world,so we must maintain peace and tranquility among the society”, Boro said.
He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of region and emphasises for bringing corruption free environment across the society to have an equality opportunity and rights.
He said that the BTR government is initiated several vision and mission towards the welfare and uplift of the peoples including educational upliftment, skill development mission, livelihoods earning strategies are so far initiated for the welfare of the peoples.
He said that BTR government has been stepping to bring a community happiness environment among the society.He stated that the government of BTR is launched Green Bodoland Mission (GBM) to gain healthy environment across the Bodoland region,and subsequently massive plantation program is taking place at different places in the region.

CEM Boro has hailed the announcement of Sickhnajhar National Park under the entire Haltugaon forest division in Kokrajhar district by chief minister of Assam,Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that it is a proud moment for the peoples of the entire Bodoland region again get another new national park.He has extended sincere thanks to the chief minister and government of Assam for declaring the new national park along the India -Bhutan border areas.
Various organisations, government offices including the ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) party also celebrated the Independence Day at their respective offices.
UPPL vice president,Afjal Haque Sarkar hoisted national flag on the occasion of Independence Day being held at the UPPL central office in Kokrajhar amidst presence of party leaders, workers and well wishers.
UPPL party wished a happy Independence Day to all peoples of the region as well as the entire state.

Marking the celebration of Independence Day,the CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro graced an interactive session with ACS Officer Trainees undergoing the four week training program of the on Administration of Sixth Schedule Areas and Tribal Language (Bodo & Mising) of 2024 Batch, held at the Bodoland Administrative Staff College, Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar.

CEM Boro, spoke to the soon-to-be ACS officers on the very unique challenges & opportunities in the administration of Sixth Schedule areas,and urged them all to develop specialised skill sets, gain a thorough understanding of the diverse history, language & culture of the areas, and approach issues with nuance and sincerity. He extend his best wishes to all trainees for a stellar career ahead.

In Udalguri,the deputy CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region,Gabinda Chandra Basumatary hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day celebration being held at the Udalguri College parade ground which was organised by the district administration of Udalguri.
Basumatary has extended his greetings to all peoples of the state on the Independence Day, said that today entire nation celebrated 78th Independence Day with befitting programme scheduled.
He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development and welfare of the citizens,and rendering relentless services towards the welfare and development of the society.
