CEM of BTR Pramod Boro meets Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

KOKRAJHAR,FEB 6: Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region met union minister for Education,Dr Dharmendra Pradhan at the Parliament House in New Delhi on Thursday, and discussed at length on the uplift and development of the educational environment in Bodoland region.
The meeting was a highly productive meeting with education minister on the key educational priorities in BTR, including the future of CIT, C-TET, and strategic initiatives to bolster Bodoland region’s education ecosystem.

CEM Boro was accompanied by  MPs Dilip Saikia, Joyanta Basumatary, Parimal Suklabaidya and BTR EM, Wilson Hasda.
CEM Pramod Boro stated that the discussion focused on enhancing skill development, improving academic infrastructure across the region.
” Had a highly productive meeting with our dynamic Union Minister of Education Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan Ji in New Delhi, to discuss key educational priorities in BTR, including the future of CIT, C-TET, and strategic initiatives to bolster BTR’s education ecosystem.Our discussions focused on enhancing skill development, improving academic infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for students in BTR. I also had the honor of inviting the Hon’ble Minister to visit CIT Kokrajhar and witness its pivotal role in fostering educational excellence and innovation in the region”, CEM Boro said.

Meanwhile, a delegation team of the All Bodo Students Union under the leadership of it’s president, Dipen Boro met union education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi,and formally handed over an invitation letter to him for attending the 57th annual conference of the ABSU to be held at Dotma in Kokrajhar in March,2025.

Confirmation about the meeting, ABSU president Dipen Boro said, ” Today, I had the privilege of meeting Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan Ji, at Parliament House, New Delhi, where we had a productive discussion on key educational issues. On behalf of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), I extended a formal invitation to him for the 57th Annual  Conference of ABSU, scheduled to be held in Dotoma on March 14, 2025. The conference will feature a Youth Conclave on the theme “Empowering Youth for Viksit Bharat for a Vibrant Bodoland,” with an expected participation of 30,000 students, teachers, and youth. Hon’ble Minister assured his presence at the event, which will be a significant moment for the youth of Bodoland.

” In our discussion, we addressed crucial educational concerns, including:
inclusion of the Bodo language in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET),national Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for Bodo students inclusion of the Bodo language in Kendriya Vidyalaya and Sainik School entrance examinations and other education-related policies for the upliftment of Bodo students
” The discussion was highly insightful and action-oriented, with positive assurances for future developments. Hon’ble Minister also assured a visit to the Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar, where he will meet and interact with students and teachers to understand their aspirations and concerns”, ABSU president said.
