KOKRAJHAR, JULY 16: A four-week long training program on the Administration of Six Schedule Areas and Tribal languages like Bodo & Mising for Assam Civil Services (ACS) officers of 2024 batch, has been commenced from Tuesday being held at the Bodoland Administrative Staff College(BASC), Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari in Kokrajhar.
A total of 82 ACS officers of 2024 batch including three from BTR area are undergoing training.
The event was conducted and sponsored by the Government of Assam in collaboration with government of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) to impart training amongst the ACS officers of 2024 batch across the state especially on the tribal languages like Bodo and Mising communities.
Speaker of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA),Katiram Boro ceremonially inaugurated the training program amidst presence of Akash Deep, BTC Principal Secretary,Dhiraj Saud, BTC Secretary & Course Director, Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, District Commissioner of Kokrajhar, several government officials.
The training focuses on administration in Sixth Schedule areas and tribal languages like Bodo and Mising.
The Assam government, in association with the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has sponsored a significant agenda for the first time, aimed at providing tribal language training to Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers in the state of Assam.
Notably, the training program has been regarded as a pioneering step while imparting training on the tribal languages for the ACS officers of the state of 2024 batch.
BTCLA speaker, Katiram Boro has hailed the initiative of organising the training event for the ACS officers on the tribal languages for the first time in the state.
He said that he was pleased to attend the inaugural ceremony amidst the presence of senior government officials,and ACS officers.
” It was an immense pleasure to have attended the inaugural ceremony of 4-week long training programme on Administration of Six Schedule Areas and Tribal Languages (Bodo & Mising) for ACS Officers of 2024 Batch, being commenced from today (16/07/2024) Sponsored by Govt. of Assam at BASC, Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar”, Boro said.
“This is a proud moment for the day of BTR as ACS officers are undergoing training in Kokrajhar on the tribal languages”, Boro further adding said, “As part of the BTR peace accord 2020, the establishment of the Bodoland Administrative Staff College marks a significant milestone”.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing administrative capabilities and fostering cultural understanding among ACS officers serving in diverse and sensitive areas of the state of Assam.
