BTC Govt declares local holiday on Nov 16

KOKRAJHAR,NOV 6: The government of Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) has declared ‘Local Holiday’ on 16th November, 2024 (Saturday) on account of the “Bodo Thunlai Saan” (Bodo Literary Day) under the entire BTR districts.

A notification from the Govt of BTC has been issued while highlighting about the local holiday on the foundation day of the Bodo Thunlai Saan.

Notably,the Bodo Thunlai Saan was founded on 16th November in 1952,and since then the Bodo Thunlai Afad,and various Bodo social organisations are observing the Bodo Thunlai Saan every year on November 16.
All educational institutions and Govt. offices of entrusted departments of BTR shall remain closed on 16th November, 2024.

All educational Institutions under BTR are requested to observe the Literary Day in their respective Institutions/attend public functions to be held on the occasion of observance of Bodo Thunlai Shaan (Bodo Literary Day) on that day.

Meanwhile,the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in association with Govt of Bodoland Territorial Region is observing Bodoland Mohotsov in New Delhi with two day programme scheduled beginning from November 15.
Necessary arrangement and preparation is seen in full swing to host the Bodoland Mohotsov grand program.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is gracing the event as chief guest, besides several union ministers, state ministers,and MPs are attending the event.
The Mohotsov will showcase cultural demonstration, traditional music instruments of Bodos.besides hosting seminar on various aspects and visions of the Bodo community.
President of Boro Sahitya Sabha, Se Surath Narzary stated that the prepration and arrangements are getting in full swing to host the Bodoland Mohotsov in the national capital New Delhi.He informed that more than five thousand peoples are participating the national event.Hr has made an appealed to all sections of the society to participate the Bodoland Mohotsov grand program.
