KOKRAJHAR, JULY 31: In a landmark step toward digital transformation and academic excellence in Northeast India, Bodoland University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with REC Foundation, New Delhi, on Wednesday for the establishment of an Advanced Multidisciplinary Computer Laboratory amounting of ₹6.22 crore.
The project is being implemented under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of REC Ltd, a leading Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Power.
The MoA was jointly signed by Dr. Subung Basumatary, Registrar of Bodoland University, and Mr. Pradeep Fellows, representing REC Foundation. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Raju Narzary (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Technology), Mr. Ashok Kr. Brahma (Research Scholar, Dept. of Biotechnology), and Mr. Manish Tiwari (CSR representative, REC Foundation).
Key Highlights of the Advanced Laboratory are included gigh-end computing systems and smart classroom facilities, infrastructure for national-level online examinations (NET, GATE, UPSC, SSC, etc.), training programmes for government and private sector employability in technology, facilities for digital content creation, server-based learning, and inclusive tools for differently-abled learners
This initiative is set to position Bodoland University as a regional hub for digital education, research, and capacity-building, particularly benefiting students from tribal and underrepresented communities in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
