KOKRAJHAR, OCT 4: A two-day Bodoland Mushroom Mela 2023 was concluded on Wednesday at Gandhi Nwgwr Field in Gossaigaon of Kokrajhar with a colourful programme scheduled.
Nearly 50 stalls from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) participated and showcased their products in the mela which was organised by the Bodoland Mushroom Mission, government of BTR.
Notably, the Bodoland Mushroom Mission is a flagship programme of BTR government to promote the mushroom farming activities and uplifting of farmers towards the commercial aspects in the field of agricultural aspects.
During the occasion, several mushroom farmers and self help groups (SHG) were given away cheques of Rs.10000 each as financial support and kit tools from the Bodoland Mushroom Mission, Govt of BTR.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region graced the occasion as chief guest and handed over the mushroom kits amongst the farmers.
He said that the BTR government is taking strong initiative to make massive ushering of massive sustainable development in Bodoland region, and subsequently stepped up strongly to extend cooperation and support to the farmers.
He has urged the farmers and mushroom farming sectors to render massive services towards upliftment of the mushroom sector.
