KOKRAJHAR, NOV 3: The 23rd edition of the Bodoland Martyr’s Gold Cup football championship 2023-24 has been kicked off today being held at Kokrajhar district sports association (KDSA) stadium playground in Kokrajhar.
In the inaugural match, Bilwgw FC, Khoirdanga, North Bengal defeated the Kabirali FC, Udalguri 3-0 goals. The match attracted a sports amusement amongst the audience. A total eight prominent teams from different states of the country participated which are included PSA FC, Manipur,VBC FC of Alipurduar, West Bengal,Baahugkha AC,Kokrajhar,Ferenga FC,Bijni,Salbagan FC, Gossaigaon,Bonjar FC, Kachugaon.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) inaugurated the opening match amidst presence of Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary and huge sports spectators. The event was organised by the Kokrajhar district sports association in association with ex-BLT welfare society to commemorate the sacrifice and dedication of Bodoland movement martyrs during the Bodoland movement.
The winning team would be awarded trophy and cash Rs. 1,00,000 and runners up team would be given away trophy and cash Rs. 50,000 respectively.The final match of the championship will take place on 11th November.
