KOKRAJHAR, DEC 5: The Governor of Assam,Lakshman Prasad Acharya has approved the nomination of two Members of Council Legislative Assembly (NCLAs), government of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Sajal Kumar Singha and Saikong Basumatary, as Executive Members in the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
In a notification from the Raj Bhavan, Governor Secretariat, Guwahati,the two two NCLAs of the Bodoland Territorial Council have been inducted as the Executive Members of the BTC with immediate effect.
This decision follows a recommendation from Pramod Boro, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC.
Sajal Kumar Singha, who is representing the Srirampur constituency, Singha was initially elected as a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) during the 2020 BTC however, he switched over to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the formation of the BTC government in 2020.
Saikong Basumatary, who elected from the Chirang constituency. Basumatary was originally a member of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF). He later joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), aligning with the present BTC Govt.
Notably, the two berths of the EMs were vacant for few months due to drop of former EMs of BTC, namely Ghanashyam Das and Reoreoa Narzihary from the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council.
With the induction of two EMs in the BTC,the strength of the EMs of the Executive Council has gone 17 including the CEM, deputy CEM of the Bodoland Territorial Council.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Council,has extended his hearty congratulations to Singha and Basumatary, on the inducted as EMs of the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council,and hopeful that more developmental aspects will be ushered in days to come ahead.He said that the government of BTC is fully committed to work for all round development and welfare of the common masses across the region.
The UPPL party also extended it’s warm congratulations and best wishes to both of Basumatary and Singha,who are inducted as EMs in the expansion of the Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council.
