KOKRAJHAR, MAY 24: A cyber crime awareness programme was held at Terapanth Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Saturday which has been aiming to educate the public on the growing menace of cyber-related offences.
The event was jointly organised by the Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Kokrajhar, in collaboration with the Assam Police of Kokrajhar District.
Officials from the Assam Police attended as resource persons and highlighted various forms of cyber crimes including online fraud, phishing scams, identity theft, and misuse of social media platforms.
They also focused on rising incidents of cyber fraud, online scams, and social media misuse. Police officials shared practical tips on cyber safety, secure online practices, and how to report cyber offences.
They also briefed on safety measures and legal remedies available to victims.
