KOKRAJHAR, AUG 13: A Youth Immersion Program was organised at the Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar on Tuesday amidst a huge participation of youths from different parts.
The event was organised by the Assam Legislative Assembly which has been emphasizing to extend help young people and students learn about how the legislative system works and to encourage them to take part in building the nation.

Several distinguished dignitaries, including Assam Legislative Assembly speaker Biswajit Daimary, deputy speaker Dr. Numal Momin, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, Deputy CEM Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, BTC Legislative Assembly speaker Katiram Boro, Vice Chancellors of Bodoland University and Kokrajhar University, Member of Parliament Joyanta Basumatary, and MLA Lawrence Islary were prominent attendees in the event.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Speaker Daimary gave students a detailed understanding of the legislative process. He explained the finer aspects of parliamentary procedures in simple terms, stressing that the Assembly’s functioning is not just an administrative formality but a dynamic process where informed debates and consensus-building shape the laws and policies that govern the state and the nation.
In his inaugural speech, the CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro encouraged the youth to take active roles in nation building, stressing that their energy, ideas, and participation are key to a better future.He stated that the government of BTR has been emphasizing to promote youth welfare and development aspects across the region.
