Anundoram Borooah Award distributes in BTR  3

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 29: Along with rest of the state, the distribution of Anundoram Borooah Award 2023 was conducted separately on Wednesday in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) amongst the meritorious students of the HSLC final examinations.

In Kokrajhar, altogether 447 meritorious students, including 221 girls and 226 boys in Kokrajhar district who score 75 percent and above on the last HSLC examinations conducted by the Board of  Secondary Education of Assam (SEBA) received the Anundoram Borooah Award amounting Rs 15,000 at a ceremonial programme held at Science College Auditorium Hall.

The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Reoreoa Narzihary, Kokrajhar District Commissioner, Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi attended the programme and handed over the cheques to the students.

In Chirang, a total of 325 meritorious students from Chirang district who score 75 percent and  above on the last HSLC examinations conducted by the SEBA received the Anandaram Borooah Award amounting Rs 15,000 at a ceremonial programme held at District Parade Ground, Kajalgaon.

Assam cabinet minister of Handloom and Textiles, Sericulture, Soil Conservation and Welfare of Bodoland department, and Guardian Minister of Chirang, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, BTR executive member Ranjit Basumatary MLAs Ajay Kumar Roy, Joyanta Basumatary, attended the program and handed over the cheques to the students.

CEM Boro while addressing the gathering said that the BTR government and state government have been stepping up for bringing quality educational upliftment across the region,and subsequently initiated several steps.
He said that the Anundoram Borooah Award commemorates the spirit of Assam’s first & finest civil servant, Late Anundoram Borooah.

“It was a glad moment to have distributed the Anundoram Borooah Award today to our industrious & meritorious students of BTR who have aced their HSLC exams with 75+% marks. I extend my heartiest congratulations to my young student friends for their hard work & perseverance towards academic excellence. Keep up the good work, my best wishes are always with you”, Boro added.
