KOKRAJHAR, NOV 2: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has extended it’s heartily welcomes the holistic visit by His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyl Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan to India in the state of Assam for the first time.
ABSU president Dipen Boro and general secretary Khanindra Basumatary in a press statement said that the propose visit will usher on strengthening sustain peace and more bilateral ties between India and Bhutan in many aspects across the nation.
The recent statement of Dawa Penjor, General Secretary of Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA) is highly significant for us towards building a strong border relationship with India, state of Assam and Bodoland Territorial Region sharing with 265 Km of international border from Sankosh river to Bhairabkunda, Assam, India. It will strengthen the socio-cultural understanding, geographical harmony between two nations and its neighbouring communities. Since long decades, ABSU and BIFA has been working for peace building in bordering areas, issues related to security concerns of citizens and misunderstanding through amicable solution prioritising goodwill relationship between the neighbouring communities to strengthen Bhutan-ndia friendship.
The All Bodo Students Union has always been making priority for establishment of permanent peace in Bodoland region and in building brotherhood relationship with the neighbouring nation.
The recent Bodo Peace Accord signed on 27h January, 2020 with the ABSU, UBPO and four factions of NDFB had paved the way for permanent peace in the region and the feeling of fear and worries of the citizen of both nations now totally relaxed after the peace accord that we had been witnessed for two decades during the movement period.
ABSU extend utmost gratitude to the Prime Minister of India, Home Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Assam as well as the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region for transforming it into reality.
“ABSU believes that the historic visit of the King of Bhutan will foster a brighter and more harmonious
future, the deep-rooted friendship between India and Bhutan with the bordering state of Assam and BTR and
play a crucial role in ensuring unprecedented lasting peace in the region”, the students union leaders added.
