KOKRAJHAR, JULY 12: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has demanded for giving priority opportunity to the permanent resident of the state of Assam and mandatory both PRC (permanent resident certificate) and local language for the candidates in the recruitments of college in the education department.
In a press statement on Friday, ABSU president Dipen Boro and general secretary Khanindra Basumatary said that after sharp reactions from various corner in the state regarding non mandatory of PRC in recruitment of college level, the Education department, government of Assam, finally compelled to withdraw the decision.
” ABSU demands to the state government that the priority should be the permanent resident of Assam and we urge to make mandatory both PRC and Local language (Official and Associate Official language of Assam) for the candidates”, ABSU leaders said.
On the matter of Assam direct recruitment exam and the announcement in change of examination pattern as Prelims, Mains and Viva-Voice, the students union demands for conduct of examination with previous model not with the new pattern as the exam is near and the aspiring candidates are already prepared as earlier. Before taking any policy decision and making notification, government should take into account the interest and sentiment of the students and indigenous people of the state, the statement added.
