ABSU urge Govt to extend special package for flood affected Sikkim

KOKRAJHAR, OCT 7: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) expresses it’s deep condolences on the devastating flash flood affected region of Sikkim and aftermath of the Teesta River surge from upward to the downstream where around 53 people have died and 140 people are still missing as per government report with the destruction of thousands of houses, displacement and cut off on road connectivity.

In a press statemen on Saturday, the ABSU president Dipen Boro and general secretary Khanindra Basumatary said that the natural calamities have been caused the state of Sikkim with devastating severe amongst the citizens of the state. The students union appeal to the Union Government to provide special package to the flood and widespread devastation affected state of Sikkim for adequate relief and rehabilitation and to expedite the rescue operation in speedy manner.

The students union extends it’s solidarity and cooperation in this need of the hour to the people of Sikkim. The students union also offered their prayers to make healthy rescue operation those areas are devastated massive in the state of Sikkim.
