ABSU to celebrate 5th BTR Peace Accord Day in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR,JAN 22: Marking the five glorious year in bringing peace and tranquility across the Bodoland region since the signing the historic BTR Peace Accord,the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has decided to celebrate 5th Bodo Peace Accord on 27th January to be held at the Kashikotra Higher Secondary school playground in Chirang district.

Notably , the BTR Peace Accord which was regarded as third Bodo peace accord,was signed on 27th January, 2020 with the Bodo movement organisations : ABSU, UBPO & four factions of NDFB and Government of India and Government of Assam during NDA-II Government.

Addressing the reporters today held at the Bodofa House in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, ABSU president Dipen Boro told that the All Bodo Students Union is going to celebrate the 5th Bodo Peace Accord Day (BTR Agreement) at Kashikotra Higher Secondary playground in Chirang district on 27th January with a day-long programme scheduled.

The program.will be followed by flag hoisting of the ABSU, floral tribute to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, homage to the Bodoland martyrs,
release of pigeon for Peace and prosperity, rally for peace and implementation and a grand open discussion on the topic  of “Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma and Dream for building vibrant Bodo community” in connection with Bodo peace accord day .

The program will be attended by all the signatory leaders followed by Pramod Boro, the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region,
Gobinda Ch. Basumatary, Deputy CEM, BTR, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Assam cabinet minister, Rwngwra
Narzary, MP, Rajya Sabha, Ohnjalu Basumatary, former general secretary of NDFB, Dil Ranjan Narzary, former VP, NDFB, Ranjit Basumatary, EM, BTR, Saikhong Basumatary, EM, BTR, Jayanta

Basumatary, MP, Lok Sabha many more distinguished dignitaries.
 The organisers have invited all the Bodo Nationalist organization in this grand program in one umbrella where 3000 delegates will be participated from- ABSU, ex-NDFB welfare Association, United Boro People Organisation,
Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dularai Boro Harimu Afad, All Bodo Primary Teacher Association, All Bodo Women Welfare

Federation, Ex.Volunteer Force, Boro Cine artist association, Boro Samaj, Boro Department College Teacher Association, BTR principal Council, BTR Region Tribal sangha Co-ordination committee, Boro Mothers Association, Boro People Co-ordination Committee and former leaders of different organization.

It is to be mentioned that after BTR Accord, 2020, permanent Peace has prevailed in the BTR region and Assam without any violence and disturbances. It was our commitment to uphold the Bodoland region with peace, harmony and prosperity and to build the Bodo community with the principle of Bodofa- to uplift the Bodo as a Vibrant community in the world with the slogan and spirit- Bodos of the world unite and work for socio-economic development, quality and better education, safeguard of our identity, land, language, culture through constitutional and political
rights.

The ABSU urge to the Union and state government to fulfill its commitment for time bound implementation of all the
remaining clause of Bodo Peace Accord at this moment of the completion of 5 yrs of the accord. 
The students union leader also
appeal to the Government of India and Assam for release of all the 66 numbers of former NDFB from the central jail and withdrawal of their remaining cases.
ABSU and the Bodo community is highly hopeful that the dynamic leadership in centre and state will address all
those issues at the earliest.
