KOKRAJHAR,SEP 1: A general meeting of the Kokrajhar district committee of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) was held at the Dotma HS School auditorium in Kokrajhar on Sunday.
The meeting was chaired by Kripesh Daimary, president of the Kokrajhar district committee,ABSU,and attended by ABSU general secretary, Khanindra Basumatary,vice president Khwrwndao Wary, Assistant general secretary, Dinesh Brahma, MLA Lawrence Islary,and several leaders and members from different anchalik committees of Kokrajhar district.
The meeting discussed thoroughly on the organising of the upcoming 57th annual conference of the central committee of ABSU and 56th annual conference of Kokrajhar district committee,ABSU scheduled to be held on the first week of February,2025 next year.
A strong reception committee (RC) of the annual conference with Lawrence Islary, MLA of Kokrajhar East LAC as chairman, and Shankarlal Brahma as convenor along with other 19 sub committees was formed to meet a grand success of the annual conference of the ABSU.
The ABSU’s annual conference would be held with four day’s colourful programme scheduled at Dotma in Kokrajhar.
ABSU general secretary, Khanindra Basumatary stated that the 57th annual conference of the students union would be organised as per the resolution resolved during the delegate session of the Golaghat conference held in February last,and accordingly today the reception committee was formed.He said that the Dotma session will be terminating period of the existing body of the students union besides the session will be witnessed various colourful programmes like completions of sports, literary, culture etc.
He said that the session will discuss on various issues,and matters related to the welfare and development of the Bodo community especially educational uplift.
He informed that more than 5000 delegates and observers are participating the session from different district committees, state units,and units of universities across the state as nation in the annual conference.
