KOKRAJHAR, AUG 29: A joint delegation team of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) held a meeting with chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday in Guwahati and discussed on various issues related to the Bodo medium education, language and other issues.
During the meeting, the delegation have demanded the state government for introducing Bodo as medium of instruction in 100 higher secondary schools, provincialization of Bodo medium schools, new posts for Bodo language teachers, grants for Swahid families, establishment of a permanent Session Court & Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court at Tamulpur.
Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Dr Surath Narzary told that the meeting was truthful and meaningful towards the welfare and uplift of the Bodo medium education in the state. He said that the delegation team urged the state government for taking bold initiative while bringing healthy educational upliftment.
The meeting was attended by Education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, ABSU president Dipen Boro among others.
