KOKRAJHAR, JUNE 9: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo Sahitya Sabha have dead opposed to the government’s move to include the Science & Mathematic subjects in English language for the classes from sixth to tenth instead of Bodo language in the schools.
A protest demonstration against the government’s move was carried today across the districts of the state of Assam.
In Kokrajhar, Kokrajhar district committee of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo Sahitya Sabha jointly organised the protest demonstration today at Vidyapith High School and demanded early stop of English language use in Science and Mathematic subjects in High School.
Hundreds of students union members and Bodo Sahitya Sabha joined hands the protest demonstration with holding placards, banners and expressed their resented over the government’s move.
The students union and Bodo Sahitya Sabha strongly opposed the use of English language in the subjects of Science and Mathematic in stead of existing Bodo and other languages.
Vice president of ABSU, Khwrwmdao Wary strongly protested the government’s move in the education sector, and demanded strictly reinstate of Bodo language in the concern subject.
“We wouldn’t accept English language in the subjects like Science, Mathematics, etc in the curriculum as state government and education department is trying to impose in the schools across the state”, Wary said.
In Chirang, Bijni anchalik committee and Chirang district committee of ABSU in association with Bodo Sahitya Sabha and several social organisations have organised a protest dharna and demanded reinstate of Bodo language in the concern subjects of school curriculum.
Several district committees of the ABSU and Bodo Sahitya Sabha across the state including Baksa, Udalguri, Sonitpur have also expressed their unhappiness over the government’s move and demanded reinstate use of Bodo language in the school curriculum.
