KOKRAJHAR, OCT 15: The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL)  has urged the BPF led BTC Govt to implement the five guaranteed promised before the recently concluded BTC elections 2025 that emphasized top priority in the manifesto of BPF party.

The general secretary of the UPPL Raju Kumar Narzary in a press meet held in Kokrajhar on Wednesday said the proposal of building a Mini Secretariat of BTC in Udalguri was a welcome initiative and wants deployment of required man power. He said assurance of BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary to give land pattas to landless people should be in a time bound manner. He said the BTR government led by Pramod Boro deliver over 3 lakh land related services and hoped that Mohilary will deliver the same services.

On the proposed cancellation of work tender of development works of the departments, Narzary said the tender was not invited by the UPPL but it is the tender of the government through advertisements. He called upon Mohilary not to play a vindictive politics over it as the BTR government did not play dirty politics with the huge liabilities and pending bills of Mohilary in 2020. Citing the construction of EMs and MCLAs quarters in Harinaguri, thematic entrance gate at Karigaon, beautification of BTC Secretariat entrance gate and installation of monolit of Dimapur, 2nd Medical College in Tamulpur and many more were done during the short tenure of Pramod Boro which are not admired by Mohilary.

Narzary said 570 youths were appointed before 2020 by BPF led government without any budget clearance and written test but the UPPL government did not cancel their appointments, instead they regularized their jobs. On the alleged anomalies in the selection of beneficiaries of PMAY houses,  he said the GRIs carried out the geo tagging works but the VCDC chairmen just assisted them and there is no chance to allot two- three houses to a beneficiary as no one can manipulate geo tagging. He charged the BPF that they have forgotten their promises and guarantees to the people given in the election manifesto immediately after coming to power as Mohilary was silent on their 5 point guarantees including Rs.100 crores for youth empowerment and crores of rupees for the welfare of women empowerment, welfare of physically disabled and senior citizens.

On the rampant melas with open alcohol and gamblings in every corner, Narzary said the UPPL led government established Kokrajhar a ‘city of peace’ and hosted knowledge festival, literary festival, theatre festival but not the festivals of alcohol and gamblings. He said they had commitment of alliance with the NDA till 2025 in BTC and 2026 in the state and they have good understanding but if the BJP think it necessary to review the alliance they will discuss the matter in their annual convention to be held in November next.
