First Assembly session of new BPF led BTC Govt held
KOKRAJHAR, OCT 9: The first assembly session of the newly formed Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) government in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) was held on Thursday at the Council Assembly House, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
A total of 37 newly elected Members of the Council Legislative Assembly (MCLAs) of the 40 member house, including 28 from the BPF, five from the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), and four from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took oath of office during the session, marking the formal commencement of the new BTC government.
BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Deputy Chief Rihon Daimary were among those who took oath of office.
However, former BTC Chief Executive Member and UPPL president Pramod Boro, former BTC Executive Member Rakesh Brahma, and BJP leader Rekha Rani Das Boro were notably absent from the session.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Pro-tem Speaker Tridip Daimary.
The session marks the beginning of a new political phase in the Bodoland Territorial Council under the leadership of Hagrama Mohilary, who has returned to power after a gap of nearly five years.
During the session, Tridip Daimary, MCLA from Harisinga constituency in Udalguri district,has been.unanimously
elected as Speaker of the BTCLA.BTC chief and BPF president,Hagrama Mohilary has proposed the name of Tridip Daimary as Speaker of BTCLA,and supported by members of the house.
Daimary is holding this position for second term in the BTC Legislative Assembly under the leadership of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary.
