UPPL holds Central working Committee meeting in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL ) on Saturday convened its 26th Central Working Committee(CWC) meeting held at the party’s central office in Kokrajhar.

The meeting was attended by key party leaders including UPPL President and former BTC Chief Pramod Boro,. Assam cabinet minister and party’s founding president, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, former Deputy Chief Gobinda Basumatary, UPPL General Secretary Raju Kumar Narzary, Kampa Borgoyary and several other prominent leaders of the party.

Addressing the mediapersons after the meeting, General Secretary Raju Kumar Narzary stated that the UPPL has resolved to continue playing the role of a strong opposition in the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly, with a focus on the welfare and development of the region and its people.

Narzary also informed that the party has taken a firm resolution to gear up for the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2026.

He further confirmed that the UPPL will continue its alliance with the NDA at the state level till 2026 and at the Centre maintaining the coalition till 2029.

In a notable gesture, Narzary extended warm congratulations to BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary and his team for being chosen by the public ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new BTC government.

Additionally, he appealed to BPF workers to refrain from violence in the Srirampur constituency and urged them to respect the public mandate, where UPPL candidate Wilson Hasda emerged victorious.

The meeting resolved that the UPPL will assume the role of the opposition in the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) to actively voice the concerns and aspirations of the people both inside and outside the House. The party extended its greetings to BPF president Sjt. Hagrama Mohilary and his team ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new BTC government”,the UPPL party said.
