KOKRAJHAR, SEP 28 : The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has appointed Kampa Borgoyari as the Leader of Opposition and Wilson Hasda as the Chief Whip in the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA).
An important meeting of the elected MCLAs of UPPL was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of UPPL president, Pramod Boro. During the meeting, a unanimous decision was taken to elect Kampa Borgoyari as the Leader of Opposition and Wilson Hasda as the Chief Whip in the BTCLA.
UPPL leaders stated that the appointments were made to uphold a healthy democratic spirit and ensure that the voices of the people are effectively represented both inside and outside the assembly.
Meanwhile, Pramod Boro,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region has tendered his resignation from the post of CEM of BTR.
CEM Boro met Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhawan in Guwahati,and tendered his resignation from the post of CEM of BTR.He was accompanied by BTC Speaker Katiram Boro and MCLA Madhab Chandra Chetry.
After resigning from CEM, Boro said that he submitted his resignation to the Governor in accordance with the constitutional protocol.
” I have formally submitted my resignation to the Hon’ble Governor, in accordance with constitutional protocol. I remain committed to serving the people and supporting the government in every possible way for the smooth transition”,he said.
