The initiative was spearheaded under the visionary leadership of Dr. Pranav Kumar Singh (PI) and Dr. Abhijit Padun (Co-PI), whose dedication has been instrumental in driving the success of STI Hub CITK. Their efforts, along with the committed STI Hub team, have opened new opportunities for value addition in the silk sector by enabling a seamless transition from cocoon to yarn spinning.

The training was planned to ensure smooth execution and alignment with regional sericulture development goals. The program was particularly focused on empowering women weavers of BTR, equipping them with modern tools and skills to strengthen self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and pride in local traditions.

The resource person, State Awardee Dhirashree Boro Brahma joined the programme, encouraging women participants to weave not just fabric, but also a future rooted in economic independence, cultural pride, and sustainable livelihoods.
