KOKRAJHAR, SEP 12 : The various political parties are seen busy in the electioneering campaign in support of their respective candidates to woo the common voters for the scheduled BTC elections to be held on September 22 across the BTR districts for 40 member assembly of the BTCLA.
Notably, this time the ruling UPPL party is contesting in all 40 constituencies, BPF and Congress parties are contesting in all 40 constituencies, BJP is contesting in 30 constituencies,and several parties are also contesting the BTC elections.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and UPPL candidate for Dotma constituency, Pramod Boro took out a street campaign on Friday at Serfanguri market under the Dotma Constituency in Kokrajhar district.
He was accompanied by a large number of UPPL leaders, workers and supporters, visited local vendors and shopkeepers interacting with the public and appealing for their support in the upcoming BTC elections for UPPL party. He urged the people to vote in favor of the UPPL,highlighting the party’s focus on peace and development.
Speaking to the media during the campaign, Boro expressed confidence in his victory from Dotma,which he described as one of the most prestigious among the 40 constituencies in the BTR.
He stated that the people are satisfied with the peace and progress brought during the last five years of UPPL reign in BTC.He said that the UPPL led BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the citizens,and rendered relentless services towards the welfare and development of the people cutting across the communities.
He has accused of the opposition BPF had failed to address the grievances and welfare of the citizens in their 17 year rule in BTC.He said that the BPF party have no any humanity welfare and developmental agenda in their political activities,and accordingly they have now irrelevant among the citizens.
Commenting on the recent incidents of violence in the Baukhungri constituency, Boro appealed to all political parties to maintain peace and harmony during the election process.He emphasized the importance of peaceful democratic participation to ensure a smooth and fair election.
Meanwhile, Assam cabinet minister,Ashok Singhal and several BJP leaders addressed electioneering campaign at different constituencies under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district in support of BJP candidates.BPF president Hagrama Mohilary also addressed electioneering campaign in Baksa district in support of BPF candidates for the BTC elections.
