KOKRAJHAR , JULY 24: There has been a strong reaction among political parties and organizations over the attack on the residence of a POCSO case victim in Kajalgaon, the district headquarters of Chirang.

On Tuesday evening, two unidentified miscreants entered the house of the complainant located in Shatipur under Kajalgaon police station, vandalized belongings, and also attacked the victim girl with a stone. Since then, the victim’s family has been living in extreme fear.

The accused, Akkabar Ali Ahmed, headmaster of Chatipur ME School, was previously jailed for 21 days under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing a Hindu girl student of Class 7. After being released on bail, he resumed duty at the same school.

The All BTR Bengali Youth-Student Federation has questioned on what basis the district education department reinstated a teacher who was jailed for sexually abusing a student.

Following this, the victim’s family has been subjected to various threats and intimidation, forcing the victim girl to drop out of school out of fear.
