Govt of BTR distributes land entitlement certificates in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, JULY 19: In a significant move to secure land rights and provide stability to landless families, the department of Land and Revenue, Government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), distributed 862 land pattas (land titles) to eligible beneficiaries on Saturday at a ceremonial programme held at Laimuthi playground under the 14-Chirang Duar constituency in Chirang district.

The land entitlement were distributed under the Mission Bwiswmuthi, a flagship programme of BTR government which is initiated for providing land entitlement certificates among the landless peoples.

The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Lok Sabha MP Joyanta Basumatary, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, MLA Nirmal Kumar Brahma, and BTC Executive Members Ranjit Basumatary and Saikhong Basumatary. Senior administrative officials were also present during the distribution ceremony.

BTR executive member,Ranjit Basumatary told that the land titlement entitlement certificates have been distributed under the Mission Bwiswmuthi, a flagship programme of Bodoland Territorial Region government. He informed that nearly 3 lakh cases of land related issues are resolved so far under the Mission Bwiswmuthi.He said that the government of BTR has initiated this bold initiative to provide land entitlement certificates among the landless peoples across the region.
