KOKRAJHAR, JULY 17 : The funeral of Martyr Praneswar Koch,a jawan of 209 COBRA battalion of CRPF,who martyred on Wednesday morning in the gun fighting during the anti Naxal operation in Jharkhand, was performed at Magurmari village amid a well attended cutting across the communities apart from officials from CRPF,local government officials.
The last rites of Praneswar Koch, a Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF ) jawan martyred during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district, were performed with full state honours on Thursday at his native village, Magurmari in Kokrajhar district.
Praneswar Koch, a CRPF jawan Serving with the 209 COBRA Battalion of the CRPF, was martyred in the line of duty during an anti-Naxal operation in Bokaro district of Jharkhand on Wednesday morning when his team came under ambush during a fierce gunfight with Naxals.
The body of Praneswar Koch arrived at his native Magurmari around 12.30 pm from Guwahati and citizens cutting across the communities thronged on the road to receive the body carrying vehicle.
During the funeral ceremony, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member,Ranjit Basumatary District Commissioner of Kokrajhar, Masanda Magdalin Pertin,IGP of CRPF, Ansuman Yadav, BTC Principal Secretary,Akash Deep, SP of Kokrajhar,Pusparaj Singh, former minister, Pramila Rani Brahma, and senior officials of the CRPF, Govt officials were present in the event.
Notably, Praneswar Koch joined the CRPF in 2018, dedicating himself to the service of the nation. He is survived by his wife, their 5-year-old child, his parents, and siblings.
Pramod Boro,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has extended his deep mourning and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Praneswar Koch.
CEM Boro stated that a memorial statue of Praneswar Koch will be constructed from government of BTR,who sacrificed his life for the caused of the country.
On Wednesday evening, Assam cabinet minister and Guardian Minister of Kokrajhar, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, visited the residence of Praneswar Koch, a commando of the 209 COBRA Battalion of CRPF, who attained martyrdom during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand.
The Minister visited the bereaved family at their home in Magurmari village under Kokrajhar police station and expressed his condolences to the grieving parents, wife, and child of the slain jawan.
During his visit, minister Brahma conveyed the message that in accordance with the Assam Government’s policy, a financial assistance of ₹50 lakh and a government job offer in the 3rd or 4th grade category of Assam state services would be provided to the family of any soldier from the state who lays down their life in the line of duty.
Bireswar Koch, father of Praneswar Koch told this Correspondent that he is proud as his son dedicated his life for the caused of the country.He said that his son Praneswar Koch joined the CRPF few seven years ago,and devoted his life in the national protection.He said that his son was only bread earner in his family.
