CEM-ABSU meets Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

KOKRAJHAR,MAR 6: The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR ) and All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) have been eyed swift passage of the Constitutional Amendment Bill to empower Sixth Schedule Councils with stronger administration and financial autonomy to usher more developmental aspects in the region.

A three member joint delegation team, representing Govt of BTR and ABSU under the leadership of Pramod Boro,the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, ABSU president Dipen Boro and general secretary Khanindra Basumatary,met Union Defence Minister,Rajnath Singh on Thursday in New Delhi and discussed at length on the swift swift passage of the Constitutional Amendment Bill to empower Sixth Schedule Councils with stronger administration and financial autonomy,formation of the Territorial Army, Home & Hearth Battalion in Bodoland – paving the way for the youth to serve the nation while strengthening peace and progress in Bodoland region.

The delegation team also urged the Defence minister to take bold initiative for speedy implementation of the  memorandum of understanding (MoS) of historic BTR Peace Accord, 2020 and conduct of recruitment of Army and para-military as per BTR accord clauses mentioned in 10.2 including Agniveer etc.
The meeting was a fruitful and Defence minister had paid a kind patience hearing of the delegation team.

CEM Pramod Boro stated that the joint delegation team met defender minister Rajnath Singh and urged for speedy implementation of the clauses of the BTR Peace Accord.
” It is a honoured to meet Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Ji in New Delhi today. We discussed the swift passage of the Constitutional Amendment Bill to empower Sixth Schedule Councils with stronger administration and financial autonomy. Also explored the formation of the Territorial Army Home & Hearth Battalion in Bodoland – paving the way for our youth to serve the nation while strengthening peace and progress in BTR”,Boro said.

ABSU president Dipen Boro told that the ABSU and CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro met Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi India Thursday.The team has emphasized for speech implementation of the BTR peace accord clauses with letter and spirit.
” I had the privilege to meet Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Defence Minister, India today at 4.30 PM at 17 Akbar Road, New Delhi at his official residence. We had discussed on speedy implementation of the MoS of Bodo Accord, 2020 and recruitment of Army and para-military as per BTR accord mentioned in 10.2 including Agniveer etc”, ABSU president Dipen Boro said.
