Senior BPF leader Kampa Borgoyary resigns

KOKRAJHAR,FEB 2: Making jolt to the opposition BPF, senior Bodoland Peoples’ Front leader and former BTC deputy chief, Kampa Borgoyary  has resigned from the party’s primary membership on Sunday.

Notably, Borgoyary was represented the 14No. Chirang Duar constituency of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) for third consecutive terms since 2005 to 2020,and faced defeat in the BTC elections in 2020.
He was held the deputy chief in BTC government under the leadership of Hagrama Mohilary,and held in-charge of different departments like Forest, Tourism, Education departments etc.
He contested the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections on the BPF ticket in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency,and faced severe defeat by UPPL candidate, Joyanta Basumatary.

Presently,he was holding position of vice president and spokesperson of the BPF party.
On Sunday, Borgoyary tendered his resignation letter to the president of BPF party, Hagrama Mohilary, citing personal reason,and stated that he was associated with the party for long twenty years in services.
” After an incredible journey of 20 years, I have decided to step down from my position in the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF). This decision was not an easy one, as these two decades have been filled with countless memories, valuable learning experiences, and the opportunity to serve the people alongside dedicated colleagues”, Borgoyary said.

” I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Hagrama Mohilary, President of BPF, as well as all the leaders, members, and supporters of BPF who have stood by me throughout this journey. Your unwavering support and trust have meant the world to me, and I will always cherish the bonds we have built over the years.

This resignation does not change my commitment to the people and the values I believe in. I will continue to work towards the progress and well-being of our society in new and meaningful ways. Wishing my former colleagues continued success in their endeavors. Let’s keep striving together for a better future”, Borgoyary added.
