District-Level Training on Incident Response System held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR ,JAN 4: A two-day District-Level Training Program on the Incident Response System (IRS), held at the Bodoland Administrative Staff College in Kokrajhar, concluded on Saturday with a Field Simulation Drill (Mock Exercise) at the Bodofa Cultural Complex.

The event was organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kokrajhar, in collaboration with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), Guwahati, the training provided hands-on experience in disaster response scenarios.
On the concluding day today, a Field Simulation Drill (Mock Exercise) at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, providing practical exposure to managing disaster scenarios.

A Tabletop Exercise (TTEx) was also held, where facilitators guided participants on procedures, plans, and policies for disaster management, with a focus on mitigating stress during emergencies. The session emphasized understanding rules, responsibilities, and protocols, particularly for earthquake scenarios. Participants from various line departments were encouraged to contemplate and discuss ways to deal with potential disasters.

Dr. Kripal Jyoti Mazumder, Program Officer (DM) from ASDMA, Guwahati, attended the program as key resource person.
Kokrajhar Additional District Commissioners Kabita Deka and Jituraj Gogoi, along with representatives from various departments such as Land Revenue & Disaster Management (LR & DM), Health & Family Welfare (H & FW), Fire & Emergency Services (F & ESS), CISF, and APRO, actively participated in the training.

The program aimed to enhance interdepartmental coordination and prepare officials to efficiently handle emergencies, thereby improving disaster resilience in the Kokrajhar district.
