KOKRAJHAR, NOV 10: The Bodo Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) in association with Govt of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is organising Bodoland Mohotsov in New Delhi with two-day colourful programme schedule starting from November 15 to mark the foundation day (Bodo Thunlai Saan) of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
The event has been emphasized to explore the height of Bodo literature, language and culture across the country.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is gracing the event as chief guest amidst presence of several dignataries from different corners of the nation.
On Saturday, several Bodo organizations, including the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and Bodo Harimu Afad, organized a grand “Welcome Rally” in Kokrajhar and adjoining districts of BTR to express gratitude and extend a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is set to inaugurate the upcoming “Bodoland Mohotsav” in New Delhi on November 15.
The rally, which began at the Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School ground, was flagged off by Bodo Sahitya Sabha President Dr. Surath Narzary. Similar rally were organised in different parts of BTR as supporters participated with enthusiasm, showcasing excitement for the two-day cultural event to be held at the SAI Indira Gandhi Stadium on November 15 and 16.
The Bodoland Mohotsav, themed “Ethos of Peace & Harmony: An Integral Part for Nation Building,” aims to highlight the richness of Bodo culture, language, literature, and education. As the first event of its kind, the Mohotsav is expected to showcase traditional Bodo musical instruments, a range of twenty-one authentic food items, and costumes with Geographical Indication (GI) recognition, providing a vibrant display of Bodo heritage and lifestyle.
The festival is seen as a platform for promoting sustainable peace and building a dynamic Bodoland region, with Prime Minister Modi’s presence underscoring the national significance of Bodo culture in contributing to India’s unity and harmony.
In Chirang, the district committee of All Bodo Students Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha carried out a rally at Kajalgaon while welcoming PM Modi.
Hundreds of student activists and citizens participated the rally.
