UPPL is people’s choice party, Pramod Boro says
KOKRAJHAR,OCT 28: Three candidates are in fray to contest the upcoming bye elections in 31 No.Sidli LAC (ST) scheduled on November 13 in Chirang district along with four other constituencies in the state of Assam.
Today, was the last day of the withdrawal of the nomination for the bye elections,and accordingly three candidates are found valid to contest the upcoming bye election of Sidli LAC.
The three candidates-Nirmal Kumar Brahma,UPPL candidate backed by the NDA alliance,Suddha Kumar Basumatary,BPF and Sanjib Wary,Congress are key contestants for the Sidli LAC.
Notably, there would be triangular contest in the Sidli LAC bye elections, apart from ruling UPPL party, BPF and Congress party.
The District Commissioner, Chirang and Returning Officer of Sidli LAC, stated that there are three candidates have been found valid to contest the bye elections in Sidli LAC scheduled on November 13.
The district administration of Chirang have prepared necessary strategy and arrangements to conduct the bye elections in a free and fair environment across the constituency.
More than 216700 voters will franchise their democratic voting rights in 273 polling stations across the Sidli LAC in the bye elections scheduled on November 13,and the counting of results would be taken place on November 23.
Meanwhile,more than 400 new members from different political parties including BPF, Congress etc joined the ruling UPPL party at different places under Sidli LAC before the bye elections.
A massive campaign programme of UPPL party was organised at various primary committees under Sidli LAC where new members in large numbers were joined the UPPL party amidst presence of senior UPPL party leaders.
In Tukrajhar, a total of 170 new members from BPF party joined the UPPL party in the presence of Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, MLA Jiran Basumatary, BTR executive member, Ranjit Basumatary.
More than 300 new members joined the UPPL party at different block committees in Sidli LAC including Salakati, Chirang,Nishima,and Kajalgaon blocks.The newly joined members were offered warm welcome and felicitated by the traditional Aronai, Phulam Gamocha and party mafflers by party leaders.
Former Assam minister,Chandan Brahma, UPPL general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary, MLA Lawrence Islary,and several senior party leaders have addressed election campaign meeting held at Salakati in favour of UPPL candidate backed by the NDA alliance, Nirmal Kumar Brahma.
Pramod Boro,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, and UPPL president stated that the people cutting across the communities are coming forward to extend support to the UPPL candidate backed by the NDA alliance, Nirmal Kumar Brahma in the bye election in Sidli LAC.He has expressed his confident that Nirmal Kumar Brahma will win the bye election in a majority votes as peoples have faith on UPPL and NDA alliance in the state as well BTR.
He also claimed that the all five NDA alliance candidates including Sidli LAC are getting last laugh from the contesting constituencies in the state of Assam.
He said that people from different political parties and common masses across the communities are pouring to join the UPPL party ahead the bye election,and accordingly UPPL party’s popularity is gained amongst the citizens.He said that UPPL party is now people’s choice party as the BTR government has initiated various human well-being initiatives.
