KOKRAJHAR,JUNE 24: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) carried out a protest torch rally in Kokrajhar,heart town of Bodoland Territorial Region in response to the gangrape of two minor girls in Dudhnoi and the subsequent murder of Hiranmoy Khaklary few days ago in Goalpara district in the state of Assam.
A torch rally for justice to the gang-rape of two minor girls and brutally murder of Hiranmoy Khaklary was organised today in Kokrajhar where several hundred participants participated with holding banner,torch on the roads,and demanded strict punishment of the involved culprits.
The protest rally was organised by the Kokrajhar district committee of the ABSU,and participated members from Bodo Sahitya Sabha,Dularai Bodo Somaj, Tribal Sangha,and several organisations.
The students union,and social organisations have strongly condemned the incident and demanded punishment for the accused rapists – Dhan Ali Talukdar, Bahar Ali, and Rahman Ali – and the murderers of Hiranmoy Khaklari – Shekbar Ali and Permina Begum – receive the highest punishment, which they specified as death by hanging under Indian penal laws.
The students union demanded the Fast Track Court into the incident,and the ABSU urged that the case concerning the gangrape and murder be expedited and handled in a Fast Track Court to ensure swift justice.
The students union requested interim compensation of Rs. 20 lakh for the family of Hiranmoy Khaklari and Rs. 5 lakh each for the rape victims.
The students union have demanded a strict law enforcement against the involved culprits who had perpetrated incidents.
