KOKRAJHAR, JUNE 8: Assam cabinet minister, Jayantamallah Baruah on Saturday visited at the Namapara under Fakiragram police station in Kokrajhar district to assess the situation following a violent land dispute at the village, and met villagers to take stock about the incident.
Remarkably, a land dispute turned violent at the Namapara village under Fakiragram police station in Kokrajhar district on Friday, leaving several 11 people serious injuries. The altercation erupted over land, sparking a scuffle that left several wounded.
The conflict, which stemmed from competing claims over a piece of land, escalated into violence, resulting in serious injuries to several persons in the area.
The injury persons were immediately rushed to the Kokrajhar Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital for treatment, who were included Paresh Barman (54), Nipen Barman (55), Biswajit Das (34), Sukuni Burman (42), Nabakanta Barman (28), Sushanta Barman (22), Parmeshwar Barman (19), Mintu Das (37), Minati Barman (30), Dineshwari Barman (45), and Bablu Barman (37).
During the visit, minister Baruah was accompanied by the executive members of BTR, Ranjit Basumatary, Arup Kumar,and senior police officials.
Minister visited at the Namapara village to take stock about the incident, and met local peoples in the area.
Later,he visited at the Kokrajhar Rup Bath Brahma civil hospital, and met injury persons who are going under treatment after the incident.
Minister Baruah told the media persons that the state government, and government of Bodoland Territorial Region has strongly assessed into the situation,and necessary initiative for bringing peace and tranquility has been emphasized into it..
He has termed that the incident was unfortunate,and unwanted for the citizens. He said that indigenous peoples would be protected, and involved culprits be arrested at any costs.
He said that no one involved culprits with incident would not be spared,police has initiated strong step against the incident.
Meanwhile, police administration in Kokrajhar so far arrested several persons who were involved with the incident.
